Overview
For His glory, God calls His people to be a blessing, and to be ministers of His reconciliation to the ends of the Earth. God is the source of blessing. Only through a restored relationship with God, through faith in Jesus, is true flourishing possible. Thus, by the Spirit, we proclaim the Gospel in life, word, and deed before all people. God has filled the Earth with different communities and cultures. The fullness of God is displayed through all nations as they submit to and worship Jesus. In His wisdom, God brings the nations into our cities and sends His people among different nations. In all places, God calls the church to follow Jesus into loving relationship with all people. The Gospel requires that we humbly learn to love the foreigner, the marginalized, and even our enemies. We intentionally learn to love those not like us so that everywhere and in every culture Jesus would be loved and obeyed. As we love the least, last, lost, and left-out, the Kingdom of God presses against idolatry, injustice, self-interest, fear, and exclusion. God shows His intentions for all of creation through a reconciled community where men and women are in right relationship with God, needs are met through generous sacrifice, the stranger and orphan are equal participants, the oppressed are set free, and the seemingly powerful and powerless share in life’s rhythms as friends. We carry out this missional identity at Redemption Tempe through Local Outreach groups and Global Partnerships.
