serve RIO VISTA:

  • Join us the first Saturday of each month as volunteers from our church meet at the Rio Vista Center to provide fresh groceries to our neighbors in South Phoenix. We will unload and organize grocery store donations and assemble them in boxes to distribute at their free Farmers Market held for the community.

  • Hygiene kits are distributed along with the food for people in need. Reach out to your RC, Bible study, neighbors, etc to donate items and put together a box for distribution at RVC.

  • Monday-Saturday 9-11:00 come in to stock shelves and organize supplies/food. RVC is continually receiving truckloads of food that need shelving.

  • Each year on the Saturday before Thanksgiving, RVC does an event that distributes turkeys, ham, and sides for families to take home and enjoy with their families. This event brings in around 1,500-2,000 people.

  • Receive the training necessary to serve families food provided by government assistance. Government assistance food requires this specialized training to manage client intake & inventory management software.

  • Monday: 9-11 unload trucks and help with prep. Tuesday-Thursday: 9-11 distribute food and food boxes. Saturdays: 9-12 distribute food and food boxes.

  • Be the point person for the volunteers during distribution. Organizing & managing the volunteer team & make sure the community is getting the supplies they need. This role is one you can work into after volunteering at food distributions consistently.
