redemption tempe youth
Redemption Tempe Youth is a community of students seeking to live all of life all for Jesus!
sunday nights
Join us every Sunday from 5PM–7PM in the Chapel for games, worship, teaching, & small groups. Doors open at 4PM to hang out and fellowship together in the North Classroom (next to the Chapel).
Redemption Youth is open to all current 7th–12th graders.
YOUTH CAMPS
We offer two camps every year for our youth. Winter Camp and Summer Camp are great opportunities for students to grow in their relationship with Christ and one another.
CONNECT WITH US
-
Jordan was born & raised in Los Angeles and moved to AZ for college in 2015 where he became a Christian through Cru, a campus ministry organization at ASU. He has been attending Redemption Tempe ever since, and began to serve in production shortly after. In 2019 he became a resident and our Director of Technology & Production while simultaneously serving in Youth. He has been a crucial leader since the re-launch of the ministry in 2021 and has faithfully served over the last several years. He began his transition from Production Director to Youth Director in 2023 and is honored to see how God moves in & through our ministry. Outside of all things music & tech, he enjoys sports, movies, & spending time with his wife Annika & daughter Shaya.

restructure faq
-
Beginning June 1, 2025, 5th graders will join Redemption Kids, and 6th graders will move to RTY (Redemption Youth), marking the end of 5th & 6th Grade structure-wise.
Redemption Kids: Birth – 5th Grade
Redemption Youth: 6th – 12th Grade
-
As our Youth ministry grows each year, it becomes increasingly challenging to address the distinct developmental stages and needs of the students. This restructuring aims to provide more focused discipleship in varying levels of maturity, understanding, and life experience among middle and high school students.
By splitting into middle school and high school, we can offer age-appropriate teaching, activities, and mentorship, creating environments that better support students’ growth in faith and life. We hope this focused approach empowers us to reach and nurture the hearts of students more effectively.
-
Jordan Unterburger (current Youth Director) and Kenzie Harris (current 5th & 6th Coordinator) will co-lead Youth beginning June 1, 2025.
Jordan will focus on leading our 9th–12th Grade students, while Kenzie will focus on leading our 6th–8th grade students.
Susanne Gonzalez will remain the leader of Redemption Kids, now including 5th graders.
-
The restructure will launch on Promotion Sunday, June 1, 2025. Current 5th & 6th graders will join Youth and can attend Summer Camp in Point Loma (June 6–10). Current 4th graders will move to the 5th Grade classroom in Redemption Kids and can attend All Of Life Camp (June 23–27).
-
We plan to combine 4th & 5th graders into a class similar to the current 5th & 6th Grade structure. This class will meet during both the 9AM & 11AM services. Finalized classroom locations will be shared in the coming months.
-
We encourage all RTY students to attend R/Tempe corporate worship gatherings with their families on Sunday mornings. Sunday Night Youth Gatherings are meant to complement, not replace, these morning worship services, providing an additional community for students.
-
RTY will continue meeting on Sunday Nights from 5-7PM during the school year (August – June), taking a break during the Summer after Summer Camp (June & July) and for the winter holidays (Christmas + New Years).
We will continue to participate in both Summer & Winter Camps, and have fun events throughout the year. While some details are still being finalized, our focus remains on creating a Christ-centered community where students feel seen, known, and loved. Gatherings will include worship, games, and relational activities, with separate teaching and small group sessions.
-
Current 4th graders advancing to 5th grade in the upcoming school year can attend All of Life Camp at Redemption Tempe from June 23–27.
-
Current 5th graders advancing to 6th grade on June 1 can attend Youth Summer Camp in Point Loma, California, from June 6–10. While they won’t join All of Life Camp as campers, they can apply to serve on the All of Life Camp Work Crew.
